Obituary of Brenda Lee Danko

MASSENA- A Memorial Service for Brenda Lee Danko, 52, of Massena will be held at 6 p.m. on Friday, April 1st, 2016 at the New Testament Church 265 Andrews St. in Massena. Mrs. Danko died at her home on March 28, 2016. She was under the care of Hospice and surrounded by her loving family. Arrangements are under the direction of North Country Cremation Service. Brenda was born on August 28, 1963 in Ogdensburg, NY. She was the daughter of Edwin and Hazel (Adams) Bateman. She was a 1981 graduate of Massena Central School and a 1983 graduate of SUNY Canton with an A.A.S in Accounting. She went on to work for Key Bank and most recently St. Lawrence County Head Start as a Bus Driver. On July 6th, 1985 she married John E. Danko at the Beth-El Assembly of God Church in Massena, where the couple would make their home. Brenda was a devoted mother and wife. She was a published children's author with stories in both Cricket and Spider Magazines. She enjoyed the outdoors, hiking, camping and kayaking were among her favorite activities. She was an avid reader. She was a supporter of the Compassion Coalition For Children and Children of Hope charities. She also loved dogs very much. She is survived by her husband John E. Danko and her sons; Justin E. Danko of Albany and Joel E. Danko and his wife Morgan (Reiter) Danko of Madrid. She is survived by her mother Hazel Bateman of Massena. She is survived by her siblings; Edwin Michael Bateman of Syracuse and Tina J. Hall of Syracuse. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her father Edwin T.
