Obituary of Katherine P. Brown

A memorial service for Katherine P. Brown, 90, of Potsdam will be held on Monday September 14, 2015 at the New Hope Community Church 33 Grant St. Potsdam at 12 p.m. with Rev. Scott Daby officiating. The service will be followed by a reception at the Lobster House in Norwood. Burial will be private. Mrs. Brown passed away early Friday morning, September 11, 2015 at the United Helpers Nursing Home- Maplewood Campus in Canton. Arrangements are under the direction of North Country Cremation Service. Katherine Patricia Brown was born on May 05, 1925 in Hermon, NY. She was the daughter of the late Lawrence and Marion (Carter) Lalonde. She graduated from St. Mary’s Academy in Ogdensburg in 1943, she married Ernest Brown on August 28, 1948. They made their home in Potsdam, NY where they would raise their family. They relocated to Pickwick Village in Daytona Beach for twenty years before moving back to Potsdam in May of 2014. She was a resident of The Maplewood Campus since June 05, 2015. Katherine was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Potsdam and St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Daytona Beach, Florida. She enjoyed travel, entertaining, golfing, dancing and swimming. She is survived by her husband Ernest Brown, her sons; William Brown of Hamburg, NY and Paul Brown of Potsdam; her daughter Ann Marie Conroy of Fort Wayne, Indiana and brother Lawrence Lalonde of Potsdam. Also surviving are her grandchildren Kursten Brown of Colorado, Kegan Brown of Potsdam and Chelsey Conroy of Fort Wayne, Indiana. She was predeceased by her daughter, Mary Jane Brown and her two sisters; Marion McNally and Jane Teddy.
